Arsenal’s ‘brilliant’ player could now leave before Gunners jet off on pre-season tour – report

Arsenal appear to be heading closer to making yet another new signing in the form of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Nuno Tavares could be the biggest loser from the deal.

Reports today have claimed Zinchenko is set to follow his former City teammate Gabriel Jesus to The Etihad for a fee in the region of £35m. The Ukrainian will hope for more regular game-time with the Gunners and the chance to potentially showcase his talents further forward.

However, Goal has claimed that one of the reasons Zinchenko is being signed is because of his ability to play in the left-back slot. And with that, Goal claims that Nuno Tavares could now be allowed to depart.

It comes just a week or so after reports surfaced to suggest Tavares could be on his way out of the club on loan before Arsenal jet off back from the USA i. A week or so’s time. And it seems with Zinchenko signed, the Gunners are more open than ever to that sort of deal being concluded.

Despite his erratic form at times, Tavares did receive a ‘brilliant‘ label for on a particular performance from the MOTD crew, so there is a talent in there. A loan spell, then, could suit all parties here.

TBR’s View: Zinchenko A Tavares Upgrade And More For Arsenal

Is Zinchenko a letter left-back than Tavares? Yes. Is he better going forward? Yes. And does he have more experience and Premier League knowhow in the locker? Certiainly.

With that, Arsenal’s decision to bring in Zinchenko and loan out Tavares makes more than good sense.

Of course, Arsenal might not want to give up completely on Tavares just yet. But a loan in France could work wonders, and we’ve seen how William Saliba excelled last year too. All in all this is a deal that makes sense for pretty much everyonee.
