Emma Hayes wins WSL Manager of the Season for third successive year

Emma Hayes has been named as the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Manager of the Season for 2021/22.

It was a record-breaking season for Emma Hayes’ side, who became the first team in the WSL era to claim a third consecutive league title. It is also a third successive Manager of the Season award for Hayes, who scooped the prize in 2019/20 and 2020/21.

She was also named Manager of the Year for the WSL at the League Managers Association awards last night.

The Blues boss was in the running for Manager of the Month five times this season as her side won 18 of the 22 league fixtures this year.

Hayes’ Chelsea side only lost twice in the league all season, and went on an impressive unbeaten run from January to pip Arsenal to claim top spot late on in the campaign.

The Blues also have players nominated for the Player of the Season and Goal of the Season awards, which will be announced by the WSL later this morning.

Sam Kerr, Jess Carter and Guro Reiten have been nominated for Player of the Season, while Pernille Harder and Kerr are also up for Goal of the Season, for their strikes against Manchester United in respective home and away fixtures.
