“He is likely to move to Arsenal” – Transfer to Gunners talked up, player motivated and tipped to succeed

Arsenal interested in signing premier league star Gabriel Jesus this summer despite interest from elsewhere.

That’s according to journalist Rodrigo Oliveira, who has backed the Brazilian to be a big hit at the Emirates if he does make the move.

Jesus will find himself down the pecking order at Manchester City next season with the imminent arrival of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

He will be the undisputed first-choice under Pep Guardiola, meaning Jesus faces the prospect of even less minutes than he already does.

A move away has been mooted for several months, with Arsenal thought to be keen on the Brazilian as they look to bolster their forward line this summer.

They need to replace Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, and Jesus would fit into their model of targeting younger players under Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard also knows the player well from his time as Guardiola’s assistant.

A move could make sense for all parties, then, and according to Oliveira, it’s already in the pipeline.

“He would be the perfect striker; for me, that’s a big yes (for Juventus),” he told Tutto Juve.

“He played very well at City and will only leave the club because, with the arrival of Haaland, it will be difficult for him to get the right minutes.

“He is in a good moment; he is motivated and wants to recover his starting place for Brazil. So if he comes to Juventus, the Italian club will acquire a great centre forward.

“But as we know here in Brazil, he is likely to move to Arsenal.”
