Title-winning boss is furious as Arsenal agree to sign £34m star cheaper than expected – report

Arsenal are signing  Fabio Vieira in a deal that is reportedly leaving Porto boss Sergio Conceicao absolutely furious.

The Gunners have secured Eddie Nketiah’s new contract and are now looking to bring in new faces alongside Brazilian prodigy Marquinhos.

Gabriel Jesus and Lisandro Martinez are the hot rumours at the moment whilst New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner is coming in.

Yet the most excitement at the moment surrounds playmaker Vieira who looks all set for a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Rumours of Arsenal’s strong interest in Vieira broke on Thursday and the move has accelerated rapidly.

Porto have already confirmed that they have agreed to sell Vieira in a deal worth £34million.

That agreement will see Arsenal pay £30million up front and £4million in add-ons down the line.

It’s understood that Vieira had a €50million (£42million) release clause in his Porto deal but Arsenal are signing him for much less than expected.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha now report that Porto boss Sergio Conceicao is very unhappy with Vieira’s exit.

It’s claimed that Conceicao is angry that Vieira is being sold and has now delivered an ultimatum that he wants major reinforcements brought in to make up for it.

It would be one thing if Arsenal paid Vieira’s release clause and Porto had no option but to sell.

Yet with Porto taking less than Vieira’s release clause, Conceicao seemingly isn’t happy – especially as fellow playmaker Vitinha looks to be leaving too.

Conceicao won the Portuguese league title with Porto this past season and they won’t want to risk making him so unhappy that he leaves.

That’s the risk Porto now run as Vieira closes in on his big move to London.

Vieira, 22, racked up a quite ridiculous six goals and 14 assists in just 27 league games for Porto this past season.

A cultured playmaker with a superb left foot and an eye for the killer pass, Vieira could now bring more guile to the Arsenal side whilst leaving Conceicao gutted.
